Tilt-Shift Lens Photography

Manipulating the depth of field of a shot (or making judicious use of the photoshop blur tool) to create the illusion of a playmobil/trainset landscape.




HDR Photography

High Dynamic Range photography, merging a number of different exposures of the same scene to create one photograph that encompasses the entire tonal range of the different exposures. Creates an otherworldy, washed out, fantastical image of otherwise mundane subjects

Down to Banff

A fortunate confluence in our schedules meant that Sarah and I could spend a slightly extended weekend down in Banff.

The Ice-Fields Parkway between Jasper and Banff is said to be the most scenic drive in the world and I`m certainly not going to argue. The dawn of spring has meant that we can actually see the scenery and are not terrifyingly gripping the steering wheel and sliding all over the road (although there was a brief blizzard on the way back, leading to some hairy moments).





Its always lovely to run off to these fairy-tale destinations and sleep on a Fairmont bed for a few days, Sarah and I thought we`d go all out with the softest steak I`ve ever eaten and some fancy Pinot Noir

Jasper's one and only landmark (discounting the mountains and whatnot) came a'cropper the other week. After a good 80 odd -30 winters and a rather unfortunate paint job in the 1980s.

What a bloody shame.

Two months eh?

I guess thats the problem with employment. Not that I have any excuse whatsoever, my laptop comes to work with me every bloody night.

Britain in the World

Bryan opines about Britain's lost prominence in the world, joining Canada and Australia in the sorry business of defining national greatness around the scraps of NASA's costcutters.

And yes its sad that Britain is no longer important, but thats OK, because in this new, globalised world of cities, London is the most important city in the world.
